Without my Dimitri life is hard. But, I have to do it, otherwise I will lose Lissa too. What I want isn't important. They come first. They always come first.[/font]

Rose sits on her bed wearing a pair of grey sweatpants, that she stole from Dimitri's room when she was at his house, a green tank top, and white socks. She has a book in her hand and she is staring down at it.
"How old are you?"
"Seventeen" he answered promptly.
"And how long have you been seventeen?"
His lips twitched as he stared at the road, "Awhile", he admitted at last.
"Okay", I smiled, pleased that he was still being honest with me. He stared down at me with watchful eyes, much as he had before when he'd been worried that I would go into shock. I smiled wider in encouragment, and he frowned.
"Don't laugh but how can you come out during the daytime?"
He laughed anyway, "Myth"
"Burned by the sun?"
"Myth"
"Sleeping in coffins"
"Myth", he hesitated for a moment, and a peculiar tone entered his voice. "I can't sleep"
It took me a moment to absorb that, "At all?"
"Never", he said, his voice nearly inaudible. He turned to look at me with a wistful expression. His golden eyes held mine and I lost my train of thought. I stared at him until he looked away.
"You haven't asked me the most important question yet." His voice was hard now and when he looked at me his eyes were cold.
"I blinked, still dazed, "Which one is that?"
"You aren't concerned about my diet?", he asked sarcastically.
"Oh", I murmered, "that"
"Yes that", His voice was bleak, "Don't you want to know if I drink blood?""
Rose looks away from the book and closed her eyes. Dimitri. No, don't think of him. Suddenly she is with Dimitri on a beach. They are dancing together in the sand. Suddenly he dissapeared. The sun rose and Adrian appeared. 'What now. I was actually having a great dream," she said in what was close to a whisper.
"Are you avoiding me? I haven't seen you much since you got back. Is it about you having to give me a chance?" he said in the sweetest voice she had ever heard him use.
"No. If I want to graduate and become Lissa's guardian I have to focus. I need to catch up I was gone for almost two monthes you know," she said annoyed by the question. He dissapeared and she woke up. She sat up and picked up the book. She breathed a sigh "Dimitri."
